How to Use Microsoft Virtual PC 2007

Things You'll Need:

• Bootable Windows 95 or greater installation disc or disc image

   Step 1

   Load Virtual PC 2007 to see the "Virtual PC Console" and "Virtual Machine Wizard." Focus on the wizard and click "Next."

2. Step 2

   Select the "Use the default settings" option and click "Next." Set a name for your new virtual machine and choose where you want Virtual PC 2007 to create the virtual machine.

3. Step 3

   Choose the operating system you plan on installing in your virtual machine. Keep clicking "Next" until you reach the "Virtual Hard Disk Options."

4. Step 4

   Click on the "A new virtual hard disk" option and choose the folder where you want to save the virtual hard disk. Continue clicking "Next" until the wizard is finished.

5. Step 5

   Click the "Start" button in the "Virtual PC Console" window to launch the virtual machine. Insert the operating system disc that you will install in the virtual machine.

6. Step 6

   Click the "CD" item on the menu bar and choose the "Use Physical Drive" item that matches the drive letter to the drive where the disc is inserted. Click on the "Action" menu item and then click "Reset" to boot into the operating system installer. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Windows.
