How to Update BIOS From the Windows Recovery Console
Things You'll Need:
- Updated BIOS on a floppy, CD or flash drive
- Windows Recovery Console CD
- 1Navigate to the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest BIOS version program folder to a floppy, CD or flash drive.
- 2Load the Windows Recovery Console located on the Windows XP, XP Pro, Windows 2000 or other bootable CD that came with the computer and boot the computer from the CD.
- 3Load the floppy, CD or flash drive containing the updated BIOS and make note of the bay drive letter into which the media is loaded.
- 4When the computer prompts you, enter the DOS command "cd" or "chdir" followed by "[drive:][path]" (all typing done without the quotation marks) to go to the updated BIOS on the floppy, CD or flash drive. Type "cd\ F: or "chdir\ F:" if the floppy, CD or flash drive is loaded in the "F" drive bay.
- 5Using the DOS "dir" command, read the contents of the folder containing the updated BIOS.
- 6Open the "readme.txt" file by typing "readme.txt" and pushing "Enter."
- 7Follow the instructions in the "readme.txt" file. Procedure varies with each computer, but generally executable files open and run automatically.
- 8After completing all the instructions in the "readme.txt" file, the computer should reboot automatically. If not, manually reboot the computer.
How to Reset PPPoE Adapters for NetZero DSL

Click "Manage network connections" to display the list of adapters. Click on the PPPoE adapter you want to reset.

How to burn a CD from iTunes

- Open up the "iTunes" application on your system. On the left side of the screen, double-click on "Playlist." Note: If you have not set up a playlist yet, just go to "File," click on the words "New Playlist," and you will see a blank box that says, "Untitled Playlist." Afterward, you can create a name for your playlist and also drag and drop the songs into the new playlist using your mouse.
- Next find a blank CD-R to put in the CD drive, go to "File," then select "Burn CD Into Playlist." It may take a few moments for the disc to be read--you will notice it when it says, "Checking Playlist." Depending on how many songs are on the CD, it may take anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes for audio songs to be copied onto the disc.
- After the process is completed, your songs are now in CD format, and you will be able to play them on a CD player.
How to Change Startup Programs in Windows 7
Add a Link to the Startup Folder
1 Click the Windows "Start" button and select "All Programs." Right-click the "Startup" folder in the menu and select "Open All Users." This option opens the folder for all users on the computer. Choose "Explore" to open the folder for the currently logged-in user only.
- 2Right-click the folder or file you want started when the computer boots. Select "Copy" from the menu.
- 3Right-click any white space in the "Startup" folder you opened in Step 1. Select "Paste" from the menu list. The program will now open the next time you start the computer.
- 1Click the Windows "Start" button and type "msconfig" in the search text box. This opens the System Configuration console.
- 2Click the "Startup" tab. This gives you a view of all the programs installed as startup options on your computer.

Use the "Copy" and "Paste" function under "Edit" to place these images in the banner document. Resize them to fit, although some cropping will probably occur.
Press "Q" on your keyboard and use the gradient tool to drag a gradient across the selection. Then press "Q" again. Hit "Delete" on your keyboard and the two images will be blended.

Select the "Eraser" tool from the toolbar and in the options at the lower right reduce the "Opacity" to 10 percent and make the feather about 50.
Start at the left and use up and down strokes of the brush to erase the image on the far right. As you move toward the left, reduce the Opacity" of the brush and the number of strokes you do on an particular section. When you like the blend, save your work.
